One of the problems
I had was installing Nero 6.0 by Ahead Software. Here is the
quick work around the issue. When installing Nero 6 software
you will get this annoying warning from Vista:

This program has known compatibility
issues: Check online to see if solutions are available from
Microsoft web site. Program: Nero - Burning Rom, Publisher:
Ahead Software. And then it says very clearly that Nero
is incompatible with this version of Windows.
When selecting Check for solutions
online this is what Vista recommends:

Yes, Vista states very clearly
that there is a compatibility issue with this software and
that you need to visit Nero's web site and get important updates.
After visiting Nero's site I learned that Nero 6 is not going
to work with Windows Vista.
One way to find out if it will
work or not is to try and install the software and see for
yourself. I went ahead and installed the software regardless
of the warnings Vista gave me. I ignored what Nero what telling
me that this would not work. I got it to work and it actually
runs great. Smart start center works fine and I can burn cd
or dvd. I have also backed up a DVD movie (my legal version
that I own) just for testing purposes and it worked flawlessly.
So, to conclude this article
I believe it's safe to say that Nero 6.0 will work on Windows
Vista. Ignore the warnings you receive during installation
and happy burning. |
