Upgrading Windows vs Installing a new version of Windows

This has always been a preference thing since the beginign of windows. We explain what the major differences are between the two. The major differnce is that when upgrading Windows you must already have a different version of Windows installed on your system and you waat to keep all your files, any installed programs that you have and you want to keep you settings. Although this is one of the easier ways of installing operation system I usually choose to do full installation instead. Full (clean) installation will replace your current operating system or use this option if you have no operating system.

Hardware installation. We install Radeon™ X1600 Series.

Yet another hardware installation in Vista. ATI Radeon X1600 works great so far. No glitches and no problems from Vista, driver (latest 7-8-vista32-dd_ccc_wdm_enu_50974.exe) from ATI installed withou any issues. Stay tuned for more info.

Hardware installation. We install Asus N6600LE to see how hardware installation differs in Windows Vista.

This video card was purchased in 2005 so I am very excited to see how Vista will react and is different in hardware installation. Our video card for this test is Asus 256MB DDR, AGP 8x powered by Nvidia GeForce. According to Vista's performance information I received 1.0 (lowest score possible) so I wanted to see what difference in performance this will make.

New hardware detected. Read what difference a new video card makes.

New features noticed after installing Asus N6600LE with WDDM which is a new big part of requirements for Windows Vista.

Running Vista after installing a new video card (Nvidia GeForce 6600) has been nothing but a pleasant surprise. Over all system speed has improved dramatically, windows runs faster, windows open faster and many new features are now also available.

Is your Windows Vista running slow. Is it not as fast as you were expecting. Looking for Vista Tweaks. Are you asking yourself how to make Vista run faster?

Vista Tweaks

Yes, I admit that my first couple of days using Windows Vista I was a bit disappointed with overall performance and speed of the system. Xp seemed to run much faster and I felt the dramatic slow down in system performance. Little did I know to actually let Vista run a few system checks and follow it's recommendations. Further I will explain what tweaks I used and what difference it made and how to go about making your Vista work faster and more efficient.

Speed up your Vista with these tweaks
